Greetings! My name is Clayton Jacobis, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Mission in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated labourer, I’ve spent much of my life working alongside my fellow Guyanese, contributing to the rich agricultural heritage that our region is known for. The warm smiles and hearty laughter shared among neighbors remind me daily of the importance of community, and I cherish the connections we've built through shared experiences, from fishing in the nearby river to celebrating our festive heritage.
Living in Guyana, every day is a chance to indulge in the flavors that make our culture unique. Whether it's enjoying a plate of pepperpot on Christmas morning or savoring fresh catch from the Pomeroon River, the culinary delights of our land are a source of pride. I often reminisce about the local foods and the gatherings that bring us together, whether it's a Sunday family meal or a community event down by the river, where stories and laughter flow just as freely as the water itself.
Though I am rooted in Guyana, I am also deeply connected to the Guyanese diaspora. Many of my friends and family have ventured abroad, and we stay in touch, sharing updates about life back home and celebrating each other's successes. This connection keeps my spirit alive and reminds me of the resilience and strength of our people, whether we are in Canal Lower Pom. River or all the way to places like River Grant Enterprise Lower. I look forward to fostering these connections and continuing to build a brighter future for our community.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
