Hello! I’m David James, a proud labourer from the vibrant community of Mission in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and lively markets, I’ve seen both the struggles and the joys of my community. The camaraderie among vendors and families is infectious, even when there are challenges, like when we jokingly complain about the local authorities asking us to move. That’s just part of our charm—finding humor even in tough situations, as many of my friends and family would attest!
Though I now have friends and family spread across the globe, my heart remains in Guyana, where our traditions and rich history are woven into everyday life. I cherish the connections we share, whether through the delicious flavors of our cuisine or the stories we tell about our beautiful land from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the serene Pomeroon River.
