Greetings! My name is Ddan Lewis, and I proudly call Bank Essequibo my home. Living in the vibrant Boodhoo Housing area, I work as a labourer, contributing to the local community. Guyana’s rich culture and warm hospitality shape my everyday life, from the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region to the delicious local dishes we all cherish, like cook-up rice and pepperpot, which remind me of family gatherings and the stories shared around the dinner table.
As a proud Guyanese, I take immense joy in celebrating our diverse heritage, reflecting our unique blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and Portuguese influences. Whether it's the sweet sounds of a tassa band during Mashramani or sharing a plate of curry duck with friends, these moments connect me to our roots and the wider diaspora.
