Greetings! My name is Decasey Williams, and I am a proud labourer from the beautiful region of Bank Essequibo, located on the Upper Left Bank of the Pomeroon-Supenaam area in Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of our country has shaped my love for our local cuisine, including the mouthwatering pepperpot and the delectable roti that so many of us cherish. The essence of our unique blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences is something I carry with me, whether I'm sharing a meal with friends or introducing my newfound friends to the delights of Guyanese food. There’s nothing quite like bonding over a plate of cook-up rice or a warm, fluffy sada roti!
As I navigate life in the diaspora, I find joy in introducing people to the hidden gems of our culture, whether it's taking them to local markets, sharing stories of our beautiful Kaieteur Falls, or guiding them through the vibrant neighborhoods that reflect our diverse backgrounds. I am passionate about connecting with others who share my love for the Caribbean, and I love hearing about their culinary experiences from Jamaica, Trinidad, and beyond.
