Hello! My name is Denesh Balbad, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home, specifically the vibrant community of Somerset in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated labourer, I contribute to the hard work that defines our local economy while cherishing the rich culture that surrounds me. From the beautiful Pomeroon River to the lush landscapes, every corner of my hometown holds a piece of my heart.
Growing up in Guyana, I've been blessed with the flavors of our diverse cuisine. Whether it's the comforting taste of pepperpot on special occasions or the unmistakable aroma of a good cook-up rice, food is a deep-rooted part of our identity. I find joy in sharing these culinary delights with friends and family, whether here or as part of the Guyanese diaspora, where many of us reminisce about home through our tasty dishes.
While I focus on my work, I also engage with the realities of our nation. I've seen the struggles we face, from political challenges to economic hurdles, and like many, I sometimes wonder how we can foster better growth for our communities.
