Hello! I’m Dhaniram Lall, a proud fisherman based in the vibrant community of Lima Anna, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich waterways of Pomeroon, my life has always been intertwined with the rhythm of the river. Fishing is not just my occupation; it is a way of life that connects me to my heritage and the bountiful resources our land offers.
As an East Indian Guyanese, I take immense pride in sharing the traditions of my culture, whether it’s through the delicious flavors of roti and curry or the vibrant celebrations of Diwali. Our community is a blend of backgrounds, and I cherish the stories we share, from the beautiful floating bridges that connect us to the laughter echoing along the riverbanks. Whenever I cast my net, I remember the stories of my ancestors, who also relied on these waters for sustenance.
Living in Lima Anna, I often find myself immersed in the warmth of local gatherings, whether at a family meal or a festival celebrating our diverse heritage.
