Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of our rivers and islands, such as the enchanting Lower Pom River and the serene River Pariaka Island at Akawini, I've developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that defines our homeland. My culinary roots run deep as well, with fond memories of sharing dishes like pepperpot and metemgee, which remind me of my family's gatherings. Even now, living in diaspora, I find joy in sharing these flavors with friends and introducing them to the joys of Guyanese cuisine.
As I navigate my life here, I carry with me the spirit of our community, cherishing connections with fellow Guyanese both near and far. With each project I undertake, Iām reminded of the resilience and creativity that our people embody.
