Hello! I’m Dollie Shool, a proud resident of Karawab, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant community has deeply connected me to our rich culture, from savoring delectable dishes like pepperpot and metemgee to celebrating festivals that showcase our diverse heritage. Each day, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life here, whether it's fishing along the Pomeroon River or sharing stories with neighbors in our close-knit village.
As a Guyanese, I cherish our unique blend of cultures, with our Indian, African, Amerindian, and Portuguese influences creating a spirited community. I often reminisce about our local landmarks, like the Essequibo River, and how important it is for us to preserve and share our culture with the world. I believe that even from afar, we carry a piece of Guyana in our hearts, and I love connecting with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, hearing their stories and experiences.
