Hello! I’m Dorwayne Fredericks, a proud Guyanese hailing from Siriki Upper Pom River in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always appreciated the colorful blend of our heritage, influenced by our Indigenous peoples, as well as the Dutch, English, and French who have all walked through our jungles. It’s like that old joke: “The English, the Dutch and the French all walk into a jungle…”—and that jungle is a part of who we are. I enjoy connecting with friends and family, both near and far, as we celebrate our unique identity and the warmth of our community. Even from abroad, the Guyanese diaspora keeps our culture alive, sharing our experiences and love for home.
