Hello! My name is Edward Patrick, and I proudly call Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a security guard, I work hard to ensure the safety of my community, reflecting the strong sense of camaraderie and resilience that we Guyanese hold dear. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, I cherish the vibrant culture and the unique warmth that our people bring to everyday life.
Food is a significant part of our identity, and I have fond memories of enjoying local delicacies like eggballs and awara. There’s nothing quite like savoring awara, especially when you master the technique of eating it from the bottom to the top! It’s these little traditions that remind me of my roots and the shared experiences we all have, whether we’re gathering at St. Monica or enjoying a sweet snowcone with condensed milk. Each bite takes me back to home, even if I haven't been there for some time.
I believe that no matter the challenges we face, our spirit remains unbreakable. Whether discussing our beloved Essequibo or sharing stories about life in Berbice, it’s clear that Guyana holds a special place in our hearts, no matter where we may be.
