My roots in the region, particularly around areas like Lower Pom and River Kabakaburi, have shaped my identity and my deep appreciation for our cultural heritage.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry the spirit of our homeland wherever I go. The bond we share through our communal gatherings—filled with laughter, music, and the tantalizing aroma of fried fish and cassava—reminds me of my youth spent near River Makouria Island. I strive to connect with fellow Guyanese, whether it's reminiscing about the vibrant festivities of Mashramani or discussing our favorite fishing spots along the Pom River.
