Greetings! I'm Elisha Jacobus, a dedicated teacher from Mission, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River and the rich cultural heritage of our people has shaped my passion for education and community development. Here, we celebrate our vibrant traditions, from the delectable taste of pepperpot during holiday gatherings to the rhythmic sounds of our folk music that echo through the streets. I strive to instill pride in my students about their roots while encouraging them to reach for the stars.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish our close-knit communities and the warmth of our people. Despite the challenges we face, like those voiced by many of us in the diaspora, my mission remains clear: to nurture a generation that sees the beauty in our land and is equipped to contribute positively to its future.
