Hello! My name is Esther Persaud, and I am a proud Guyanese, currently residing in the charming village of La Bagatelle on Leguan Island, nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a Senior Clerk, I take pride in my work and strive to contribute positively to my community. Guyana is a beautiful land, rich in culture and diversity, where we celebrate our heritage through vibrant festivals like Diwali and Mashramani, as well as share our delicious cuisine, from spicy pepperpot to sweet, fragrant fry and bake.
Having spent some time in the diaspora, particularly in New York, I cherish the connections I've made with fellow Guyanese. Whether reminiscing about our favorite spots on Liberty Avenue or sharing stories of home, the bond we have with each other is unbreakable. I often find myself craving the comforting flavors of home, especially when the celebrations come around. Nothing compares to the warmth of a gathering filled with laughter, music, and, of course, generous helpings of our beloved dishes!
My journey has shaped who I am today, and I remain optimistic about the future of our beautiful country. Despite the challenges we face, I believe in the potential of our people and the beauty of our land.
