Hello! My name is Eyon Daniels, and I proudly hail from the beautiful River Evenuri Mainland in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. As a labourer, I dedicate my days to contributing to the local community, and I take pride in the hard work that helps sustain my family and neighbors. Guyana's rich culture, with its vibrant blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and Dutch influences, is something I hold close to my heart.
Growing up in the lush landscapes of Pomeroon, I have always been inspired by the breathtaking scenery that surrounds us—from the serene Pomeroon River to the bustling markets where you can find the freshest local produce. I love sharing the flavors of our cuisine, especially dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, which are staples in any Guyanese household. The warmth of the people and the deep sense of community make it a special place to call home.
Connecting with the diaspora and hearing stories from fellow Guyanese around the world is incredibly important to me. Whether it’s sharing memories of River Grant or exchanging tips on how to make the perfect cassava bread, I cherish these moments. I dream of a day when I can travel and meet others who share my love for our homeland, including folks from as far as Ethiopia or Brazil, as we all strive to keep our culture alive wherever we are.
