Greetings from the beautiful Lodge Essequibo Coast! My name is Farah Sookram, and I proudly call Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up in Guyana, I've been deeply influenced by our rich cultural heritage, which is a delightful fusion of Indigenous, African, and Indian traditions. From savoring a hearty plate of pepperpot at family gatherings to celebrating Diwali with vibrant lights and sweets, my life embodies the warmth and unity of our diverse people.
As a resident of this picturesque region, I am passionate about sharing the untold stories of our hidden gems, such as the serene Arasaro River and breathtaking Kaieteur Falls—though I must admit, I always chuckle when I hear it mispronounced! My goal is to connect with fellow Guyanese, whether they are living here or in the diaspora, fostering a sense of community and pride in our roots. Just like many of us, I recognize the challenges we face, but I firmly believe in the potential of our beloved land and its people.
