About FRANKIE VALLIE RAMROOP

About Frankie Ramroop

Hello! My name is Frankie Ramroop, and I’m proud to call the Essequibo 1999 New Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up in a vibrant community, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich cultural heritage that Guyana has to offer. From the lush landscapes of the Essequibo River to the bustling markets where you can find the tastiest street food, like seven curry and fresh fish, my heart belongs to this beautiful country. I often reminisce about the laughter shared with friends and family over meals, celebrating our diverse traditions that range from Hindu festivals to the lively rhythms of the Guyanese carnival.

As a resident, I have witnessed both the challenges and opportunities that our country faces. While the economy, particularly in construction, is booming, many of us still grapple with the realities of poverty and the effects of political corruption. Despite these hurdles, I remain hopeful for the future of Guyana and the potential for growth that can benefit all citizens. I often engage with fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora, to share experiences and support one another in our journeys, celebrating our shared culture and dreams.

For those looking to experience the soul of Guyana, I recommend diving into our rich culinary scene and exploring the local markets. And if you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods, don’t hesitate to join us for a meal or a chat—just be prepared to enjoy a hearty serving of our beloved Creole-speaking tradition! After all, it’s not just about where you come from but the connections we build and the stories we share along the way.
