Hello! I’m Mohanram Ramroop, a hardworking labourer residing in the Essequibo 1999 New Housing Scheme, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in the vibrant landscapes of Guyana, I cherish the beauty of our rivers—like the Pomeroon and the Two Friends Settlement—which have played a significant role in our way of life. The rich culture of my homeland is reflected in our delicious foods, from pepperpot to fried plantains, and the strong community ties that bind us together.
As a proud Guyanese, I carry my heritage with me, whether I'm sharing a hearty meal with family or connecting with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora. My experiences often remind me of the comments I hear from others who feel the pulse of our culture, like how "Guyana is going places" thanks to the "black gold" that has brought so much attention to our beautiful nation. I have a deep appreciation for the stories and journeys of those who have ventured abroad, from New York to Canada, celebrating our traditions and forging connections that span the globe.
