Hello! My name is George Smith, and I proudly call River Coporoto Island in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. As a miner, I spend my days deep in the lush landscapes of Guyana, surrounded by the vibrant flora and fauna that our beautiful country is known for. In fact, I can still remember the day my mother learned how to make roti from a close friend—a Guyanese lady who brought her own special touch to the kitchen.

From the serene banks of the Essequibo River to the bustling energy of our community, there’s a spirit of resilience and warmth that connects us all, whether we are in Guyana or part of the diaspora.
