Greetings! My name is Gulzaire Nandalall, a proud fisherman residing in the vibrant community of Anna Regina in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Surrounded by the lush beauty of the Essequibo River, I’ve spent countless days casting nets and sharing stories with fellow fishers. The thrill of the catch is only matched by the camaraderie forged on the riverbanks, where we celebrate our rich heritage with delicious meals of fried fish, rice and peas, and spicy pepperpot that resonate with the flavors of our diverse culture.
Having grown up in the heart of Guyana, I am deeply connected to the land and its people. Whether it’s enjoying a festive gathering during Mashramani or taking a stroll down the colorful streets of Georgetown, the spirit of my homeland is ever-present. Though many of us have ventured abroad, let’s not forget the warmth of our Guyanese community, as we share our experiences and keep our roots alive, no matter where we are in the world.
