Hello! I'm Harry Akeram, a dedicated teacher based on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically at 57 Estate Johanna in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and traditions. Whether it's sharing stories of the mighty Essequibo River or the rich history of our indigenous peoples, I find joy in teaching my students about the world we live in.
As a proud Guyanese, I often reminisce about the delightful flavors of our local cuisine, from the soft and fluffy roti to the spicy curry that brings everyone together at the dinner table. I enjoy spending my weekends exploring the serene beauty of places like River Grant Dumbarton, where the tranquil waters and lush vegetation offer a perfect escape. Engaging with my community, I also cherish the connections I have with our diaspora, who remind us all that no matter where we are in the world, our culture and heritage remain a vital part of our identity.
In my classroom, I strive to inspire a love for learning, recognizing the importance of education in shaping future generations. With each lesson, I aim to instill a sense of pride in my students about their Guyanese roots, empowering them to embrace their unique heritage as they navigate the global stage.
