Hello! I'm Meenawattie Rajkumar, a dedicated teacher based in Essequibo Coast, right along the vibrant 27 Public Road at New Road, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in the lush landscapes of Lower Pomeroon, with its winding rivers and rich cultural heritage, has profoundly shaped my values and passions. I cherish the diversity of our community and strive to instill the same love for learning in my students that my teachers instilled in me.
When I'm not in the classroom, you can find me exploring our local cuisine, whether it's savoring chicken curry with roti or enjoying some doubles, all washed down with a refreshing mauby drink. I believe that food is a gateway to understanding our unique Guyanese identity. Our connection to places like River Marouria Island and Arota Island Akawini reminds me of the beauty of our homeland and the stories each location holds.
As an educator, I aim to bridge the gap between our rich cultural heritage and modern learning. I understand the importance of our diaspora community and how many of us have roots in Suriname and beyond. Together, we celebrate our shared experiences and strengthen our ties, ensuring that our culture thrives, whether on the banks of the Pomeroon or across the globe.
