Greetings from the vibrant heart of the Essequibo Coast! My name is Hemadevi Persaud, and I proudly call Affiance my home. Nestled along the Pomeroon River, this beautiful area is a melting pot of cultures, rich with history and a deep connection to our ancestors. Growing up here, I have been deeply influenced by our local traditions, from the tantalizing flavors of pepperpot and roti to the lively celebrations of Phagwah and Diwali that bring our community together.
As a resident of Essequibo, I cherish the lush landscapes and the warmth of my neighbors, who often greet each other with a smile, embodying the spirit of togetherness. Whether it's a casual chat at the local market or sharing stories at the riverside, every interaction is a reminder of the close-knit ties that bind us.
