Hello! I’m Hermina Burrowes, a dedicated teacher based in the vibrant community of Coast 18 Public Road West Airy, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. My passion for education is fueled by the rich cultural heritage of our region, where the rhythmic beats of chutney soca resonate in our streets and the aroma of pepper pot wafts through our kitchens. I believe that every lesson should celebrate our diversity, weaving in the stories of the Indigenous peoples, Afro-Guyanese, East Indian, and the myriad of cultures that call Guyana home.
Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our natural beauty, particularly the enchanting rivers and lush landscapes that define our land. Whether it's a leisurely afternoon spent by the Pomeroon River or indulging in a plate of curry and roti with friends, these experiences shape my teaching philosophy.
