Hello! I’m Ivelaw Semple, a proud soldier hailing from the vibrant Coast Sand Reef Mocha in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been fortunate to experience the diverse flavors of our culture, from the mouthwatering pepperpot and roti to the sweet tang of our famous guava cheese. I cherish the moments shared with family and friends, especially during holidays like Mashramani, when our celebrations come alive with music, dance, and vibrant parades. My connection to my home extends beyond its borders, as I stay in touch with our diaspora community, where I often hear comments that echo our shared love for Guyana, like the pride in our best Chinese food in South America and the laughter over being labeled "British Guyanese."
