Hello! I’m Jason Scott, a proud resident of La Bagatelle Leguan in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant rivers of my homeland, I developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and traditions. Whether it’s enjoying a plate of spicy pepperpot or fresh fish curry, or celebrating at the annual Mashramani festival, the flavors and festivities of Guyana are an integral part of who I am.
Living abroad has its challenges, especially when people confuse Guyana with Ghana! But it also allows me to share our unique cultural heritage and the beauty of our landscapes, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the serene banks of the Essequibo River. I often reminisce about the warmth of our community gatherings, where folks come together to celebrate life with music, dance, and of course, a good meal. Through my experiences, I strive to bridge the gap between our vibrant diaspora and those who know little about our remarkable country.
As a resident of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I cherish the values of resilience and authenticity that define us. I believe it's essential to counter the negativity often portrayed about our homeland with the genuine spirit of Guyanese people—always welcoming and full of life.
