Hello! I’m Jevon Paul, a proud resident of Better Hope along the Essequibo Coast in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, from the rich sounds of our local music to the tantalizing flavors of our beloved dishes like roti and chickpeas. There’s nothing quite like gathering with family and friends to enjoy a hearty meal, exchanging stories and laughter, especially when the aroma of cook-up rice fills the air.
Living in a country known for its stunning natural beauty and diverse landscapes, I often find myself exploring our lush rainforests and majestic rivers. Whether it’s a visit to the Kaieteur Falls or a simple day at the local market, the spirit of camaraderie and warmth amongst our people is what truly defines being Guyanese. As someone who’s been a part of the diaspora, I cherish the connections I’ve made with others around the world who share my passion for our homeland.
