Hello! My name is Joseph Gonsalves, a proud miner hailing from the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, specifically 85 Henrietta Housing. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been deeply influenced by the rich culture and the warm-hearted community around me. Whether it’s the sweet aroma of pepperpot wafting through the air on special occasions, or the lively sounds of a local mandir during a festival, I carry these experiences with me every day.
As I work in the mining industry, I’m committed to not only contributing to our local economy but also showcasing the beauty and resilience of our homeland. I particularly enjoy sharing stories and experiences from the Sheriff Street area, which often presents a side of Georgetown that many overlook. My goal is to highlight the positivity and respect that defines our culture, and to show the world that there’s so much more to Guyana than what some might label as “poor” or “dirty.”
