Hello! I’m Judah Gewan, a dedicated labourer from the Essequibo Coast, specifically the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots run deep in the heart of this beautiful land, where the Pom River flows past, and the spirit of community is palpable. Growing up, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich sounds of our culture, from the rhythmic beats of chutney music to the delightful aroma of duck curry simmering in the pot, a dish that truly represents our culinary heritage.
Living along the 39 Public Road in New Road has allowed me to connect with a diverse range of people, both locally and from the Guyanese diaspora. It’s heartwarming to hear stories from those who’ve ventured to all five boroughs, emphasizing that our culture is celebrated far and wide. Whether sharing a laugh over our unique phrases or reminiscing about the landscapes of Pom River Grant and Glenhurst, I cherish the bonds that unite us, regardless of where we find ourselves in the world.
