Welcome to my corner of the Essequibo Coast! My name is Kevin Cornette, and I’m proud to call this beautiful region of Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a fisherman, I’ve spent countless hours on the water, surrounded by the rich biodiversity that our rivers and mangroves offer. The rhythm of the waves and the call of the herons are as familiar to me as the taste of freshly caught fish fried with a side of dhalpuri, a staple in our vibrant culinary scene. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying curry with sour, you know just how special our food is.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been connected to our cultural roots, from the many festivals celebrating our diverse heritage to the stories shared by elders about the Essequibo River. I find joy in the little things, whether it’s sharing a laugh about the pronunciation of our place names—yes, I’ve heard it all!—or gathering with family and friends to enjoy the bounty of our land. I'm also proud to be part of the Guyanese diaspora, sharing our unique culture and traditions with those who have ventured far from home. It’s a reminder of the strength and resilience of our people, no matter where we are.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
