About KRISTON JAMES

About Kriston James

Greetings! My name is Kriston James, and I proudly hail from the vibrant heart of Guyana. Currently residing in 5 Beau Voisin Canal No. 1, Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, I am a passionate teacher dedicated to nurturing the minds of our future generations. My love for education is deeply intertwined with my love for our rich culture, which is a beautiful blend of Indigenous, African, East Indian, and European influences. In my classroom, I celebrate this diversity through storytelling, traditional songs, and, of course, the flavors of our beloved Guyanese cuisine—from pepperpot to roti and curry.

Despite the challenges we face, such as improving areas like the Stabroek Market and advocating for better waste management, I remain optimistic about our nation's potential. Guyana is blessed with breathtaking landscapes, from the lush rainforests to the majestic Kaieteur Falls. Our people are resilient and resourceful, and I believe that by working together, we can create a brighter future for all. I often share my experiences with the diaspora community, drawing connections between our homeland and the vibrant Guyanese culture flourishing abroad.

As I continue my journey as an educator, I am committed to empowering my students to dream big. I want them to understand that they are part of something greater than themselves, a community that spans far beyond our borders. Through collaboration and open dialogue, we can inspire one another to confront the challenges we face and strive for a better Guyana—a place where every child can thrive, and every individual’s voice is heard.
