Hello! I’m Shion Adams, a dedicated teacher residing in the tranquil Lower Pomeroon River at the Paripi Settlement, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this vibrant community, I have developed a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage that defines Guyana. From the lush greenery along the Pomeroon River to the warmth of the local people, my life here is infused with the flavors of traditional dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, and the rhythm of our local folk music.
As a teacher, I strive to foster a love for learning among my students while celebrating our unique Guyanese identity. I believe in the importance of educating the next generation about our diverse heritage, including the stories of the two other "Guyana's" in Venezuela and Brazil, and how our history shapes our present. It’s essential for my students to understand their roots and the wider diaspora, connecting them to fellow Guyanese around the world who share the same spirit and struggles.
