Hello! I’m Kumar Bissoon, a proud farmer residing in the vibrant community of Regina Essequibo Coast. From the lush landscapes of our rice and cash crop fields to the sweet aroma of cook-up rice, pepperpot, and fresh fish on the grill, my life is deeply intertwined with the rich agricultural heritage of Guyana. I take pride in cultivating not just crops but also a sense of community, where everyone gathers for potlucks and celebrations, sharing stories and laughter under the Caribbean sun.
Growing up in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I’ve always been inspired by our land and the resilience of our people. The Upper Pom River and Bat Creek hold special places in my heart, as they are reminders of the beauty and bounty that nature provides us. I often reminisce about festivals where we celebrate our diverse cultures—whether it's Diwali or Phagwah, the spirit of togetherness is what makes us truly unique. My father's hometown has instilled in me the importance of tradition and the value of hard work, which I hope to pass down to future generations.
As I navigate life in Guyana and connect with the diaspora, I’m excited to share our stories and experiences.
