Hello! My name is Kumar Narine, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home, specifically from Coffee, Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a labourer, I understand the value of hard work and community. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been fortunate to indulge in the amazing culinary delights our country has to offer. While some may argue that food from Guyana isn’t the best, I believe our local fare—especially the beloved pepper pot and fresh fish—holds a special place in the hearts of many. And don’t get me started on the Chinese food; Guyana may just have some of the best in South America! Little moments like these remind me of the unique blend of cultures that shape our identity.
As I continue my journey, I carry the stories of my homeland with me, both locally and afar. My roots connect me to the diaspora, where we share stories of resilience, laughter, and the simple joys of life.
