Greetings! I’m Lake Narine, a proud carpenter hailing from the vibrant Essequibo Coast, specifically 10 South of Cow Dam in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have been immersed in the rich culture and warm hospitality that define our beautiful land. From the lush landscapes to the lively sounds of the markets, every corner of my community has shaped who I am today. I believe that the essence of our nation can often be best expressed through our food, and I take great pride in sharing our traditional dishes, like pepperpot and metemgee, with friends and family.
One of my favorite things about being Guyanese is the spirit of enterprise and resilience that we embody. Whether it’s through hard work in our craft or celebrating milestones with a plate of delicious cook-up rice, there’s an unbreakable bond among us. I often reminisce about the times spent at the Demerara Harbor Bridge, witnessing the ongoing development that reflects our potential and growth as a nation.
