Hello! My name is Lakeram Gajadhar, and I am a proud labourer based at the Essequibo Coast's Onderneeming sand pit in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana, I carry with me the rich traditions and flavors of our culture. From indulging in a hearty plate of pepperpot on special occasions to enjoying the sweet notes of ripe mangoes fresh from the tree, food is a cornerstone of our gatherings and celebrations.
Living near the beautiful Pomeroon River allows me to appreciate its serene beauty and the stories it holds. Whether it's sharing tales of the past with friends by the riverside or exploring the nearby Karawab area, I am constantly reminded of our strong connection to the land and our people. I believe in the spirit of hospitality that runs deep in our culture, welcoming everyone with open arms, just as our ancestors did.
