Hello! I'm Lennox Narine, a proud miner from Lodge Essequibo Coast, nestled along the beautiful 26 Public Road Maria's in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, from savoring a hot plate of pepperpot on special occasions to celebrating Mashramani with friends and family. The Essequibo River, with its serene views and rich biodiversity, is a beloved landmark that has shaped my life and community.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often reflect on our unique connection to both the Caribbean and South America. While we share many cultural traits with our neighbors, like the rhythmic beats of calypso and soca, our identity remains distinctly Guyanese. I enjoy engaging with fellow Guyanese, whether it’s discussing the complexities of our land disputes or reminiscing about the flavors of cassava and the warmth of our people. I also remember the laughter and camaraderie shared over a game of cricket on the banks of the river.
Through my work in mining, I contribute to the livelihood of my community while remaining committed to preserving our environment and heritage. I believe in the potential of our beautiful nation and the strength we possess as a united people.
