My family, like many in our diaspora, traces our roots back generations, and I carry the stories of my ancestors—my daddy being a third-generation indentured lineage. I often share these tales with the younger ones, ensuring they remember where they come from, just as I cherish the contributions of notable figures like Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who have put us on the map.
