Hello! I’m Leon James, a proud sawman hailing from the serene Mission in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the Essequibo River flows and the lush greenery creates a backdrop that is nothing short of a masterpiece. Growing up near the River Massarie Island, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the rich natural resources Guyana has to offer, and my work reflects that passion, as I contribute to the forestry industry sustainably.
As a Guyanese, I cherish the warmth of our culture, from the lively sounds of carnival celebrations to the delightful tastes of our local cuisine, like pepperpot and cook-up rice. Whether I’m sharing stories of the vibrant community life in Lower Pomeroon or reminiscing about the bustling markets in Bartica, I take pride in my connections back home and with my fellow Guyanese in the diaspora. Like many, I find joy in the little things, whether it’s a good laugh with friends or enjoying the beauty of our landscapes, even from afar.
Though I now navigate life outside of Guyana, my heart remains firmly planted on our shores. I believe that no matter where we go, our home is always with us.
