Hello! I’m Leroy Williams, a proud miner hailing from the beautiful Essequibo Coast in Onderneeming Sandpit, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been fortunate to experience the rich culture and natural beauty our country has to offer—from the lush rainforests to the meandering rivers that define our landscape. Whether it’s enjoying fresh catch from the Pomeroon River or savoring a hearty plate of metemgee, each moment reflects the warmth and vibrancy of our Guyanese heritage.
As someone who has lived and worked in both rural and urban settings, I’ve seen firsthand the diverse lifestyles that come together in our nation. My journey as a miner allows me to connect not only with the land but also with fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora who share a love for our roots, like those who reminisce about their childhoods spent along the Kairimap Creek.
