Hello! I'm Lexis Sobers, a proud labourer located on the Upper Pomeroon River's left bank in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and the vibrant life along the river, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and natural beauty. Here in Guyana, the rhythm of life flows like the waters of the Pomeroon, and the sounds of the jungle echo the heartbeat of our community.
Every day, I find joy in the simple pleasures of Guyanese life, whether it's enjoying a plate of fried shark or savoring a slice of our beloved red cake. Our country's diverse culinary heritage is a reflection of our people, and I love sharing these flavors with friends and family. Like many Guyanese, I sometimes feel the push and pull of the diaspora, connecting with those who have ventured far and wide, but my heart remains firmly anchored in the soil of my homeland.
Despite the challenges that we face, such as the desire for better infrastructure and the dreams of improving our standing in the world, I believe in the strength and resilience of our people.
