Hello! I’m Leyland Simon, a proud Guyanese labourer from the heart of the Essequibo Coast, specifically the vibrant Cotton Field area in Anna. My roots run deep in this beautiful land known for its lush greenery, friendly people, and rich cultural heritage. Growing up here, I’ve always been surrounded by the sounds of the Pomeroon River and the culinary delights of our local cuisine, from hearty pepperpot to the sweetness of coconut drops. As a member of the East Indian community in Guyana, I cherish the traditions and values passed down from my ancestors, who journeyed here from Uttar Pradesh. I take pride in being part of a community that embraces its roots while also sharing our culture with the wider diaspora.
