Greetings! My name is Littish Persaud, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Fleece Essequibo Coast in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. As a dedicated labourer, I embrace the rich culture and hardworking spirit that defines our people. Growing up amid the lush landscapes and flowing rivers of Guyana, I have cultivated a deep appreciation for our local cuisine—especially dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice that bring families together, just like the gatherings at the annual Essequibo Regatta.
My heart is firmly rooted in Guyana, yet I cherish the connections I have with the Guyanese diaspora around the world. It's inspiring to see how our community thrives beyond our borders, whether it’s through the music of our steelpan or the sweet sounds of chutney that remind us of home. I often hear stories from friends who have settled in different Caribbean islands, and it warms my heart to know that we share a bond that transcends geography.
In my spare time, I love to explore the beauty of our land, whether hiking the trails of the Iwokrama Rainforest or fishing along the Pomeroon River. Each experience strengthens my pride in being Guyanese and fuels my desire to contribute to our community.
