Welcome! My name is Lloyd Gonsalves, and I’m a proud Pitman hailing from the serene waters of the Pomeroon region in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush beauty of our rivers and forests has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our natural resources and culture. From the vibrant colors of the annual Mashramani celebrations to the spicy, aromatic flavors of a well-prepared curry, I carry the essence of Guyana wherever I go.
Living in a country rich in bauxite, gold, and sugar, I’ve seen both the struggles and potential that Guyana holds. The juxtaposition of our abundant resources amidst the challenges of development resonates deeply with me. I am passionate about advocating for sustainable practices that honor our land and its people. As someone who enjoys sharing stories about our distinctive cuisine and traditions, I believe that connecting with the diaspora helps bridge the gap between home and abroad, allowing us to keep our culture vibrant.
