Hello! I’m Lorine Allicock, a proud resident of River Saxacalli in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Essequibo, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture and rich heritage. From the sounds of the river to the aroma of freshly cooked pepperpot and rice, every aspect of life here fills my heart with joy.

While it’s true that we are not "swimming in doe" just yet, the enthusiasm and resilience of our people shine through. I've seen firsthand the transformation in my community, where the spirit of our culture — from the lively interactions at the local markets to the warmth of our festivals — remains strong.
For me, connecting with the diaspora is incredibly important. I cherish hearing stories from Guyanese living abroad, whether it's someone reminiscing about our beloved Lower Pom River or the satisfying crunch of a fresh mango at the market.
