Hello! I'm Malcom Joseph, a proud miner from the vibrant community of Richmond, located on the Essequibo Coast in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. My roots run deep in this beautiful land where the rivers flow like stories told by our elders. Growing up, I learned the value of hard work and resilience, often echoing the spirit of our ancestors who toiled the same earth. Whether I'm at the mining site or enjoying life by the river, I carry the essence of Guyana with me.
One of my favorite pastimes is sharing the rich flavors of our cuisine, from the spicy kick of scotch bonnet pepper in our beloved pepperpot to the sweet delight of coconut water on a hot day. Guyanese food is a reflection of our culture, and I often reminisce about the bustling Bourda Market, where the aroma of fresh produce and local spices fills the air. I cherish the moments spent with family and friends, whether gathered around a plate of cook-up rice or enjoying a game of dominoes while recalling the legends of cricket stars like Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I feel a strong connection to my homeland, no matter where I am.
