Hello! I’m Marcia Prince, a proud housewife residing on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, right here on Respect Street in Lil, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have always been surrounded by the vibrant culture and warm-hearted people that make our nation unique. From the lush rainforests to the serene rivers, every corner of our beloved land has a story that resonates deeply with me.
As a passionate cook, I enjoy preparing traditional Guyanese dishes, though I must admit, I have yet to try laba! The thought of it looking like a rat has me a bit hesitant, as many in our community can relate. My kitchen often fills with the aroma of pepperpot and fry rice, bringing together friends and family for gatherings that celebrate our rich heritage. I cherish the connections with fellow Guyanese, whether here or in the diaspora, who share my love for our customs and culinary delights.
Living in Essequibo allows me to appreciate both the beauty of our landscapes and the challenges we face as a nation. While some aspects of our daily lives can be tough, I believe in the resilience of our people.
