Greetings! My name is Marcia De Silva and I proudly call Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Nestled along the beautiful waterways of Guyana, I am inspired daily by our lush landscapes and vibrant culture. Whether it’s the tranquility of the Rupununi River, which many have mispronounced but I hold dear, or the flavors of our local cuisine—like the mouth-watering cook-up rice and spicy pepperpot—I enjoy celebrating and sharing the richness of our heritage.
As a resident of 583 Respect Street, I find joy in connecting with my community and the wider Guyanese diaspora. The warmth of our people is unmatched, and I cherish our shared stories, especially when reminiscing about places like Massarie Island. We all know that while some may say they wouldn't want to visit, they are truly missing out on the beauty that Guyana holds, from its renowned waterfalls to our ever-growing oil sector that puts us on the map.
