Greetings! My name is Miguel De Silva, a proud resident of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of this area has deeply shaped my appreciation for the simple joys of life. Whether it’s a sunny day by the Pomeroon River or gathering with friends to enjoy a delicious plate of dhal puri with curry, I thrive on the connections we build over food and laughter. Just like my fellow Carib folks, I believe in enjoying our roti the right way—tearing off a piece and using it to scoop up flavorful meats and sauces, never letting it go dry!
I hold a strong connection to my roots and the diverse heritage of Guyana, where cultures intertwine and stories are shared. From the bustling markets to the serene backlands of Lower Pom River, my experiences here continually inspire me. I also feel a deep connection to the Guyanese diaspora, as we share a love for our homeland, no matter where we are in the world.
