Greetings! My name is Mark Bobb, a dedicated teacher based on the Essequibo Coast in Henrietta Anna, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this vibrant region, I have always been inspired by the rich cultural heritage and the diverse communities that call Guyana home. From the sweet taste of ginip right off the tree to the comforting embrace of a hearty bowl of pepperpot during the festive season, my life is woven with the flavors and traditions that make our nation unique.
As an educator, I am passionate about nurturing the minds of the next generation and instilling in them a sense of pride in our Guyanese identity. I believe that education is not just about academics, but also about understanding where we come from—whether it’s exploring the magnificent Essequibo River or sharing stories of our ancestors who traversed these lands. Living on the Essequibo Coast, I am also part of the Guyanese diaspora, connecting with friends and family abroad who share our jokes and stories, from the playful banter about “80 grand Guyana dollars” to our shared laughter over navigating the bustling streets of New York City. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
