Greetings! My name is Merle Heyliger, and I proudly call Pomeroon-Supenaam my home, specifically from the heart of 26 Old Road Maria's. Growing up in this vibrant region has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, from the rhythms of the tassa drums to the aroma of a steaming bowl of pepperpot on special occasions. I am dedicated to preserving the stories and traditions that make Guyana unique, including our significant role as a founding member of CARICOM and our connections to other Caribbean nations.
Living in such a culturally diverse community, I've witnessed first-hand how our shared history and experiences shape our lives. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
